I'm not sure what has changed since then, it wasn't as simple as the 10.7.1 update then it didn't work. Since then I was able to read SDHC cards as I shot a number of photos and videos to my cards and they worked fine. I installed the 10.7.1 updated most likely on 8/17/11 the day after it was released by Apple.
